Locum Meds have a vacancy for Nurse Practitioner at our Minor Injury Unit in Leeds.

This is a permanent role for 36.5 hours per week.

The remuneration is up to £36,200 per annum.

The role is to assist in the provision of a quality nurse led service to patients attending the Minor Injury Unit.

The post holder will assess patients health needs with a range of minor illness and injury conditions, plan their care, administer treatment and discharge them as proper to other social insurance experts and additionally look for counsel and support from a more experienced individual from staff.

How to become a nurse prescriber in the UK?

Below are some general steps to which one can become a nurse prescriber in the UK:

Firstly, you must be a registered nurse from the the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC)
Secondly, you must meet the requirments set by the NMC which include having experience of at least a minimum of three years of post-registration. On these three years one must be in a clinical area in which you intend to prescribe.
Thirdly, you must have completed a NMC course that has been approved by the the Council either in university or any other educational institution. The duration of this course usually takes around six to twelve months.
Fourthly, you are required to gain enough experience under the supervision of a medical practitioner also known as a DMP.
Additionally, you must apply for the prescriber qualification from the NMC council upon gaining the experience mentioned above
Lastly, you are required to register as a nurse prescriber upon acquiring the nurse prescriber qualification.
